The Nabanga Pikinini projects 2007 The first six Nabanga Pikinini books for children were produced. A custom story was chosen from each of the provinces in Vanuatu: Torba, Malampa, Penama, Sanma, Shefa and Tafea. A set was distributed to each primary school in Vanuatu. These books were described by Lonely Planet as “gorgeous”, and not to be missed: Rowan McKinnon South Pacific (4th Ed, Lonely Planet Publications, 2009), p 560. 2009 Nabanga Pikinini Book 1, a 76 page collection of twenty two custom stories, was published in English and French. Ten copies were distributed into each primary school in Vanuatu. 2012 Nabanga Pikinini book 1 was translated into Japanese by Seiichi Naka. 2012/2013 Nabanga Pikinini book 1 was translated into Bislama for the first time. The English and French versions were reprinted.
